The certification, which provided foundational AI knowledge within the Salesforce ecosystem, will be replaced by the Agentblazer Status program and the Agentforce Specialist Certification.

Salesforce now encourages professionals to pursue Agentblazer Status or the Agentforce Specialist certification, both of which are more aligned with the evolving AI landscape within Salesforce products.
Key Retirement Dates for the AI Associate Certification
If you’re planning to take the AI Associate Certification exam, here are the critical deadlines:
- Last day to register: March 31, 2025 (11:59 p.m. MST)
- Last day to take the exam: May 1, 2025 (11:59 p.m. MST)
- Official retirement date: February 2, 2026
After February 2, 2026, the certification status will be marked as “Retired” on Trailblazer profiles, and it will no longer appear on the Certification Verification Page.

What Happens If You Already Have the AI Associate Certification?
If you’ve earned the AI Associate Certification before May 1, 2025, your certification remains valid until February 2, 2026. After this date:
- Your Trailblazer profile will display the status as “Retired.”
- Your certification won’t appear on the Certification Verification Page.
Should You Still Take the AI Associate Certification?
Since the AI Associate Certification is being retired, Salesforce does not recommend taking the exam at this stage. Instead, you should consider:
- Agentblazer Status – A program with progressive levels (Champion, Innovator, and Legend) to showcase AI expertise.
- Agentforce Specialist Certification – A free certification under the AI for All initiative, offering a deeper dive into AI-powered Salesforce tools.
What is Agentblazer Status?
Agentblazer Status is a new recognition program for AI and Agentforce skills. As you progress through three levels (Champion, Innovator, and Legend), your Trailblazer profile will be updated with corresponding badges. This provides a more dynamic way to demonstrate AI expertise within Salesforce.
How to Prepare for Agentforce Specialist Certification?
The Agentforce Specialist Certification is an excellent alternative to the AI Associate Certification. It focuses on prompt engineering, AI agent deployment, security, and data retrieval within Salesforce.
To prepare:
- Follow Salesforce’s AI for All program for free training.
- Use Trailhead for hands-on exercises related to Agentforce.
- Practice with mock exams to build confidence.
