TrailblazerDX '23 Key Announcements

Key Announcements from TrailblazerDX ’23 for Salesforce Users and Developers

TrailblazerDX ’23, one of the biggest events in the Salesforce community, recently came to a close. The event brought together community leaders, product experts, and Salesforce executives from across the ecosystem, including Customer 360, MuleSoft, Slack, and Tableau, providing a comprehensive experience for attendees.

As with any Salesforce event, TrailblazerDX ’23 was filled with exciting product announcements. Attendees were treated to a range of new product features and enhancements designed to enhance the Salesforce user experience. With the addition of these new products, Salesforce continues to position itself as a leader in the technology industry, empowering businesses to achieve their goals and drive growth.

In this article, we will explore the key announcements made by TrailblazerDX and their potential impact on the software testing industry.

1. Key Announcements Related to Einstein GPT

At the keynote event, Salesforce made a big announcement about their latest AI solution called Einstein GPT. This AI tool is specifically designed to boost the use of CRM and provide practical applications such as generating account summaries, drafting emails, creating landing pages, and even producing Apex controllers and test classes. During the event, ChatGPT inspired attendees to think about how AI can be integrated into various processes and systems, which made the unveiling of Einstein GPT even more exciting.

One of the most intriguing features of Einstein GPT is its ability to merge internal data from the CRM with publicly available data on the internet and deliver narrative summaries and recommendations. While there aren’t many details yet about how Einstein GPT will interact with data security within an organization, a demo presenter assured attendees that the tool would only access data available to the specific user within the org’s sharing model.

Einstein GPT opens up a whole new world of possibilities for organizations to reassess their business processes and identify tasks that can be streamlined and automated using AI. This tool is best suited for automating repetitive tasks that are high-effort but low in terms of decision-making or organizing information to simplify decision-making for users. It’s important to note that Einstein GPT won’t replace critical engagement with data or processes, but it will allow users to devote more time and focus to strategic efforts.

2. Key Announcement Related to Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud

The TDX event featured several sessions revolving around Marketing Cloud and digital themes, including the use of Einstein GPT integrations to support personalization and segment audiences using Data Cloud. While there weren’t many sessions dedicated to Marketing Cloud developers at this particular event, attendees were thrilled to learn about the revamped Mobile Push SDK, as well as the upgraded Package Manager. Furthermore, the new external call and webhook features found in Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) can be effectively utilized in Engagement Studio, providing even more ways to engage with audiences.

Salesforce is dedicated to providing solutions for working with large volume and off-platform data, which is evident by their continued investment and promotion of such tools. Data Cloud, previously known as Genie, is a powerful tool for gathering, analyzing, segmenting, and making data actionable from various sources. With integrations via Mulesoft and visualization through Tableau, users can fully leverage their data assets and avoid the hassle of reviewing data kept in separate silos.

Data Cloud offers options for no/low-code ingestion and organization of data, including data streams and calculated insights. For those who require more advanced features, there are pro-code options for interacting with Data Cloud through Direct APIs, Connect APIs, Metadata APIs, and web and mobile SDKs. Moreover, Data Cloud supports connections into Journey Builder in Marketing Cloud, which enables users to create more robust experiences and segment their audience more efficiently. It will be a game-changing tool for data unification, providing integration across the entire suite of Salesforce products for powerful segmentation, automation, and a comprehensive view of constituents.

3. Key Announcement From Mulesoft Keynote

Mulesoft is also expanding the capabilities of Mulesoft Composer, an admin-friendly integration tool. They are continuously adding more connectors to the tool and aiming to provide an accessible integration solution that can support simpler use cases that do not require the full power of Mulesoft. Integrations remain critical to the cross-system experiences and streamlining processes that Salesforce enables, and it’s impressive to see Mulesoft’s continued efforts to better integrate into Salesforce’s ecosystem.

4. Key Announcements from Automation Keynote

TrailblazerDX offers hands-on training sessions, challenges, and mini-hacks, providing numerous opportunities for participants to gain practical experience on different parts of the Salesforce platform. It’s a great way to learn more about the technology in an accessible format. Trailhead is a great platform for learning about different Salesforce features and capabilities, and TrailblazerDX builds on that by providing guided sessions that allow participants to dive deeper into the platform.

Although TrailblazerDX didn’t provide direct access to explore Einstein GPT, it did offer a Trailhead badge for those interested in learning more about the new tool. During the conference, Salesforce announced that over 900 new Flow templates are available out of the box, making it easier to automate processes aligned with best practices. These templates can be customized to align with organization-specific business processes, and many of the capabilities supported around case creation, opportunity management, and constituent engagement align well with common nonprofit and education business processes.

Salesforce also introduced a new flow template library and a new mascot, Flo, the flying squirrel. The roadmap session on security and record sharing revealed some upcoming features that will benefit organizations looking to granularly manage access to data. These new features include criteria-based field access, user access policies, and metadata grouping for delegated administration. Together with expansions in supported objects for restriction rules, these advancements on the platform will support organizations in creating strategic security models that keep data safe while providing users with the specific access they need to succeed in their roles.
