How to choose the best AWS Cloud career path for you?

AWS Cloud has the fastest-growing rate among its contemporaries in the global market. This means there are more job opportunities for you to choose from and a greater demand for talented AWS Cloud professionals!

Now is the time to consider a career in the AWS Cloud more than ever if you wish to establish yourself in the AWS Cloud universe. There are many benefits of working with this cloud computing platform, and there are many jobs available. Before you decide on one AWS Cloud career path, it is best to consider all of them.

In today’s blog, we will let you know everything you need to know about the AWS Cloud career paths to pursue.

Getting Started With the AWS Cloud

As you already know, AWS Cloud is a cloud computing platform introduced by Amazon Web Services. You can use AWS Cloud to store your files, host websites and apps, send emails, etc. In short, it is a collection of services that can be used to build applications or perform various other tasks on the Internet.

Many companies use AWS Cloud to manage their infrastructure, from powering their websites to storing data in the cloud, running analytics programs, and performing machine learning tasks.

Many developers building applications also use it for clients or their own startup companies. The good news for you is with so much demand for developers with experience using AWS Cloud platforms like Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), there will always be plenty of jobs available to choose from.

Clear Your AWS Certification in One Go!

AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification

AWS certification is a great way to prove your technical expertise and knowledge of the AWS Cloud. By earning an AWS Cloud practitioner certification, you will be able to convince potential employers that you are ready for work in this field. Additionally, you can use your certification as a stepping stone toward more advanced certifications under the AWS Spectrum.

The AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is the first certification you are supposed to earn if you wish to proceed with the below-mentioned career paths.

AWS Support Engineer

This role is a technical support position that focuses on the management and maintenance of AWS services, including creating new accounts or transferring existing ones to AWS.

A junior-level support engineer will work with customers to help them understand their options for configuring cloud services. They may also be tasked with restoring lost data or troubleshooting common issues.

Support Engineer II

This role entails more complex interactions with customers than a junior-level position, including working with them to create solutions for their specific needs and providing guidance on how best to use various AWS technologies.

A senior-level support engineer is expected to manage customer issues from start to finish, including drafting response plans and issuing updates as necessary. They are also responsible for creating reports detailing key metrics such as billing rates or performance metrics over periods like months or years.

AWS Solution Architect

AWS Solution Architect is responsible for designing and implementing AWS-based solutions for customers. The role involves:

  • Assessing customer needs.
  • Developing and delivering an architecture.
  • Defining the related security and compliance requirements.

A solid technical background is a must-have skill in AWS Solution Architects in cloud computing and networking. They should be experienced in designing and implementing complex systems by utilising different AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFormation, etc., and their supporting technologies.

AWS Cloud Developer

AWS Cloud Developer is a person who specialises in developing and supporting applications that run on the cloud. These developers are responsible for the front-end-user experience of a web application, which includes designing and implementing interfaces such as websites and mobile apps.

They also work on the back end of their application, which includes programming languages such as JavaScript or Python to build solutions like chatbots or self-driving cars.

Most importantly, they create applications that run on top of either Amazon Web Services (AWS) or another cloud service provider’s infrastructure, such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Anyone with an internet connection can access these applications through smartphones, tablets, or laptops without needing any additional software installed locally.

DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of an organisation’s applications.

This includes ensuring that software updates are deployed correctly and without downtime, monitoring the performance of applications and infrastructure services, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and optimising existing systems to run more smoothly and efficiently with less maintenance time required on your part. To become a DevOps engineer, you must have strong technical knowledge in networking or system administration.

A bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology is required for this field; some employers may prefer candidates with experience working with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

DevOps engineers typically need experience working as cloud architects before landing their first role within this field—this means having worked on projects where server provisioning was done using IaaS tools like Terraform or Ansible/Puppet/Chef scripts.

SysOps Administrator

A SysOps Administrator is a role in the IT department of your company. You will be responsible for the company’s infrastructure, security, and performance.

As a SysOps Administrator, you will need to install and configure on-premises software such as VMware vCenter Server or Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2016. You may also be required to manage cloud resources like Amazon EC2 instances, Amazon RDS instances, or other AWS resources managed by an IaaS platform such as EC2 or CloudFormation templates.

Other responsibilities include monitoring servers and providing technical support to users who need help with their systems or applications running on these servers (i.e., SQL Server).
