Mapping of Engagement Data From AWS S3 DLO to DMO

Effectively mapping customer data from AWS S3 to Salesforce Data Cloud is essential for seamless data integration and accurate data representation. 

This guide will walk you through mapping product, order header, and order line information from AWS S3 Data Lake Objects (DLOs) to corresponding Goods Product, Sales Order, and Sales Order Product Data Model Objects (DMOs) in Salesforce Data Cloud.

Step 1: Mapping AWS S3 Products

Begin by mapping the AWS S3 products, which are currently unmapped, to the Goods Product DMO.

1. Select the Goods Product Object:

  • Search for “Goods Product” and select the object.
  • Click “Done.”

2. Map Fields:

  • Product Name: Automatically mapped to the Product Name.
  • Product ID: Mapped to Goods Product ID.
  • Product Category: Mapped to Primary Product Category.
  • Product Price: Mapped to MSRP Amount.
  • Product Subcategory: Mapped to a custom field named Product Subcategory (text type, with value suggestion enabled).

3. Save Changes: Validate that all fields from the DLO are correctly mapped to the data model. Click “Save and Close.”

Step 2: Mapping AWS S3 Order Header

Next, map the AWS S3 order header to the Sales Order DMO.

1. Select the Sales Order Object:

  • Search for “Sales Order” and select the object.
  • Click “Done.”

2. Map Fields:

  • Customer ID: Mapped to Sold to Customer.
  • Date Ordered: Mapped to Confirmation Date.
  • Order ID: Mapped to Sales Order ID.
  • Status: Mapped to Sales Order Status.
  • Total Amount: Mapped to Total Amount.
  • Loyalty Points Accrued: Mapped to a custom field named Loyalty Points Accrued.

3. Save and Close: Save the changes and close the mapping.

4. Adjust Sales Order DMO: Add a relationship between the Sales Order and Individual objects for the Sold to Customer field.

  • Create a new relationship.
  • Select “Sold to Customer” from the field dropdown.
  • Set Cardinality to N:1, Related Object to Individual, and Related Field to Individual ID.
  • Save and close.

Step 3: Mapping AWS S3 Order Line

Finally, map the AWS S3 order line to the Sales Order Product DMO.

1. Create a New Field:

  • In the Sales Order Product DMO, add a new field named Date Ordered (data type: date).

2. Select the Sales Order Product Object:

  • Go to the AWS S3 Order Line data stream and select “Sales Order Product.”
  • Click “Done.”

3. Map Fields:

  • Order Product ID: Mapped to Sales Order Product ID.
  • Order Date Time: Mapped to the new Date Ordered field.
  • Order ID: Mapped to Sales Order.
  • Order Quantity: Mapped to Ordered Quantity.
  • Product ID: Mapped to Product.
  • Subtotal: Mapped to Total Line Amount.

4. Save and Close: Save the changes and close the mapping.
