People Behind the Certs – Abhishek Saha – saasguru

This week, we are excited to share the inspiring story of Mr. Abhishek Saha, a Salesforce Developer at Accenture in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. In this candid interview, Mr. Saha discusses his education and career background, his transition into the Salesforce ecosystem, the value of certifications, his favorite aspects of being a certified Salesforce professional, and the gratitude he feels for those who have helped him along the way.

Additionally, Mr. Saha has received several accolades for his exceptional skills and performance in the Salesforce domain. In December 2020, he was awarded the Runner Up in the Salesforce Lightning Individual Challenge and participated in the Team Challenge Runner-Up Team (Team G1ich) at the Capgemini Tech Challenge. Both of these honors were issued by Capgemini Tech Challenge, while Mr. Saha was associated with Accenture in India.

SG: Let’s get started. Why don’t we start from the beginning? Please tell us about your education/ career before entering the Salesforce ecosystem.

Abhishek Saha: I completed my B.Tech in Information Technology in 2015. I started my IT journey with Infosys. I was working in Mainframes technology. After working for a couple of years in Mainframes, I decided to move into SFDC.

SG: That’s awesome. Now we would love to know what was the tipping point when you said, “I want to make this change,” and what was the trigger for that?

Abhishek Saha: I used to follow Salesforce content and also was excited about Trailhead. Earning badges and points motivated me to explore different Salesforce topics. The Salesforce admin and development stuffs seemed pretty interesting to me, which eventually made me go for the change. 

And I love Trailhead. It was 2018 when I signed up for Trailhead, and because of the zeal I have for it, today I am an 18x ranger with over 80000 points. Thanks to the awesome content.

SG: You achieved many certs along the way. Can you share three things with us?

2. What are the challenges associated with the process?

3. What are your top tips for being successful in cert exams?

Abhishek Saha: Ya sure.

1) Certifications showcase a certain level of expertise of the candidate in that particular topic. 

2) Clearing Salesforce certifications is definitely a challenge, as we have new things coming up in every release, and relevant questions are there in the exams. So, one needs to be aware of the latest things.

3) Keep faith in yourself, and be confident. Go through the exam trailmix first, then look for additional resources and try to give some practice exams to boost confidence. And say no to dumps.

SG: What do you enjoy most about your work as a certified Salesforce professional?

Abhishek Saha: When it comes to complex requirements, I like to analyze the problem and try to draw an initial solution in my mind. Then after that, I go ahead with the actual implementation.
