SG: Let’s get started. Why don’t we start from the beginning? Please tell us about your education/ career before entering the Salesforce ecosystem.
Divs: I graduated in Mechanical Engineering and started my career as a Product Manager at Maruti Suzuki. Currently, I work as a Salesforce Solution Architect in San Diego, California, United States.
SG: That’s awesome. Now we would love to know what was the tipping point when you said, “I want to make this change,” and what was the trigger for that?
Divs: After learning some coding from my friends, I realized that Mechanical was not for me. So, I decided to look for other challenges and relocate myself to a different field. After that, I started learning about CRM, where I had my first contact with the Salesforce ecosystem. From there, I dedicated myself to Salesforce and making the most out of Salesforce practice, focusing on improving my technical and analytical skills.
Now, I am a Salesforce Technical and Solution Architect.
SG: You achieved many certs along the way. Can you share three things with us?
1. Why do you value certificates?
2. What are the challenges associated with the process?
3. What are your top tips for being successful in cert exams?
Divs: Why not?
- Certification provides an opportunity to grow personally and professionally. You may gain a deeper understanding of the platform and broaden your sales and customer service perspective by earning a Salesforce certification. In fact, despite your experience and years of practice, when you explore deeper into the platform, you will find a variety of tools that you wouldn’t have had previously!
- Studying to revise your skills is a main challenge with your job. You have to be up to date with Salesforce releases and new features.
- Make a study schedule and stick with it. You can also opt for Certification prep courses and Bootcamps. Allow yourself time to review and reflect on what you have learned.
SG: What do you enjoy most about your work as a certified Salesforce professional?
Divs: I really love assisting businesses in streamlining their operations, purging their data, gaining a clearer understanding of their performance, and analyzing what they can do to improve. I feel I can really add value to the project because of my experience and certifications.
SG: Time for gratitude!! Finally, is there anyone (individual or company) that you would like to take this opportunity to thank for their role in helping you along your journey? If Yes, what was their role in your success?
Divs: It is challenging to discuss each person on an individual basis. Numerous situations and difficulties somehow taught me something worth the effort.
I want to thank everyone who has contributed to my success. Our growth as human beings doesn’t merely depend on what we do and how we carve our thoughts and actions but also on what we learn from others around us.
