Meet Mr. Kunal Parikh and explore his journey with Salesforce!
SG: Let’s get started. Why don’t we start from the beginning? Please tell us about your education/ career before entering the Salesforce ecosystem.
Kunal: Having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Systems, my passion for technology led me to embark on a career in software development. Over time, I transitioned from a Business Analyst to a Project Manager, eventually taking on the role of a Program Manager.
My journey in the tech industry then progressed to becoming a Salesforce Delivery Head. Currently, I hold the position of Practice Head, overseeing both technology and business aspects, leveraging my comprehensive experience in the field.
SG: That’s awesome. Now we would love to know what was the tipping point when you said, “I want to make this change,” and what was the trigger for that?
Kunal: During a recent interview for a technology position, it became apparent that the role was not an ideal fit. However, the interviewer recognized my potential and suggested I would be well-suited for a new team focused on Salesforce.
After forwarding my profile to the relevant department, I successfully completed four rounds of interviews and ultimately joined the Salesforce ecosystem.
SG: You achieved many certs along the way. Can you share three things with us?
1. Why do you value certificates?
2. What are the challenges associated with the process?
3. What are your top tips for being successful in cert exams?
Kunal: Certification serves as proof of your expertise, but it is important to remember that facing challenges requires time and continuous learning. A useful tip is to pursue certifications with a genuine understanding of the subject matter rather than just aiming to increase the number of certifications you hold.
Focusing solely on adding certifications may provide short-term success, but for long-term growth, gaining practical experience and earning certifications that reflect your proficiency is essential.
SG: What do you enjoy most about your work as a certified Salesforce professional?
Kunal: Balancing business and technology management, as well as embracing the unique challenges that arise every day, makes for an engaging and fulfilling work experience that continually motivates me to find solutions and strive for success.
SG: Time for gratitude!! Finally, is there anyone (individual or company) that you would like to take this opportunity to thank for their role in helping you along your journey? If Yes, what was their role in your success?
Kunal: My success can be attributed to several key individuals and groups, including my former EVP, who had faith in me, and my current co-founder—particularly their Sales team and PAM—who have consistently supported me and provided opportunities for growth.
