  1. In January, Lori Castillo Martinez was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Equality Officer at Salesforce. In this role, Martinez will oversee Salesforce’s global initiatives related to equality, including strategy and programs.
  2. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to re-evaluate how we work and interact with each other, and Salesforce is committed to promoting equality in all aspects of the company’s operations. As a result, Salesforce launched the Trailblazer Ranch in February earlier this year to bridge that disconnect. The Salesforce campus in Scotts Valley, California, which is set amidst the stunning Redwood forests, features a 75-acre ranch-like setting that will provide employees with the opportunity to participate in onboarding, training, skills development, and talent building activities in person. The campus is designed to facilitate connection and collaboration among Salesforce staff.
  3. In March, Salesforce announced that Juan Perez would be joining as its new Chief Information Officer and also as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. As per a company report, Juan has over three decades of experience in various technology leadership roles, and at Salesforce, he’ll lead the Business Technology organization.
  4. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Phennecs in April ’22. By bringing Phennecs, a privacy, compliance, and data management solutions provider, Salesforce aims to help more developers and customers manage their data with built-in security and privacy compliance functions.
  5. At the World Tour event in Washington, D.C., Salesforce announced CRM Analytics. It is an innovation and tool for marketing, sales, and service members in multiple departments. These technologies provide professionals with actionable insights that can be easily incorporated into their workflow.

Additionally, Salesforce announced that it has reached a milestone in its philanthropic efforts, having donated over half a billion dollars in total. According to the company’s website, the CRM giant has given over USD 530 million in grants since its founding. The report also announced Salesforce’s another great achievement of surpassing $100 million in 2022 annual giving.

  1. Salesforce exceeded $100 million in annual giving in the 2022 fiscal year, according to a report. In May of that year, the company was also recognized as the top CRM provider by the International Data Corporation (IDC) in its latest Worldwide Semi-annual Software Tracker.
  2. In addition, Salesforce announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Troops.ai, a leading provider of revenue communication solutions. Once the acquisition is complete, subject to customary closing conditions, Troops will become a part of Slack, which is owned by Salesforce.
  3. Salesforce also made a commitment to increase the number of women and non-binary employees in its global workforce to at least 40% by the end of 2026 in order to promote equality and gender inclusion. In August this year, Salesforce committed to this multi-year approach that builds on the company’s ESG representation goals and drives gender equality at scale in its 77,000 and growing global workforce.
  4. The announcement of Net Zero Cloud and Net Zero Cloud Marketplace was rounding off the big event. The former helps organizations meet their sustainability goals, while the latter is said to make carbon credit purchases simple and more transparent.
  5. Deepening Salesforce’s commitment to workforce development, the company introduced the Hire Me button to simplify and facilitate hiring in the Salesforce Ecosystem. Additionally, aspirants will be able to indicate interest in new work opportunities on their Trailblazer.me Profile.
  6. The French government honored Salesforce Chair and Co-CEO Marc Benioff with its highest civilian honor, ‘Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur’ on October 08. Benioff received this distinction at a special ceremony hosted by the President of French Polynesia in recognition of Salesforce’s long-standing relationship with France and support to French Polynesia during the pandemic.
  7. In December, Salesforce made the DevOps Center generally available to users. This highly anticipated product simplifies the process of building, testing, and deploying custom solutions across the Salesforce platform, and helps to reduce release cycles. It allows teams to work together more efficiently and effectively.
