Dreamforce 22′ Announcements
The month also witnessed Dreamforce in full swing again, scheduled between Sept. 20-22; Salesforce made several big announcements during the tech megaconference in San Francisco.
1. Salesforce Genie
Among the most popular announcements at the conference was the invention of Salesforce Genie. Declared the ‘biggest innovation’ in Salesforce’s history, Genie is a real-time customer data platform designed to unify customer data across all channels and interactions into a single, unified customer profile. Additionally, with Genie, everything in the customer graph can be actionable across the entire Customer 360, AppExchange, and the Salesforce Partner Ecosystem, among others.
2. Slack Canvas
Apart from Genie, new Slack updates dominated the event conversations. The Salesforce-owned digital teamwork platform launched Slack Canvas at this year’s Dreamforce edition. Slack previewed Canvas, a new collaborative digital tool that allows teams to capture, organize, and store information directly inside their workplace. Slack Canvas will be available next year; however, according to Salesforce, details about its general availability and pricing are yet to be announced.
Slack also made two other announcements during its Dreamforce keynote address. First- if you are a developer, you can now use the new platform in open beta.
The second – is an enhanced version of Slack’s huddle feature, which allows users to communicate with each other through video, audio, multi-person screen sharing, etc.
3. Net Zero Cloud and Net Zero Cloud Marketplace
Rounding off the big news at Dreamforce, Salesforce used the conference stage to introduce Net Zero Cloud and Net Zero Cloud Marketplace. The products assist companies in reaching their sustainability goals, the former helped organizations in handling automating supplier emissions tracking, sustainability data, and predicting and mitigating risk. While the latter will allow carbon credit purchases to be easy and transparent, helping customers and ecopreneurs to speed up climate-positive impact at scale.
4. Hyperforce
Also, at Dreamforce, Salesforce announced updates on Hyperforce, a “reimagination” platform architecture designed to securely and reliably deliver Salesforce Cloud products on major public clouds such as AWS, Azure, and Google. According to Salesforce, two of Hyperforce’s primary features are security and data residency, which means that your data is “resident” in a specific country or region for compliance purposes.
5. Environmental Protection
This year’s Dreamforce edition had environmental protection as a theme at the event. And furthering that commitment, Salesforce Chair, Co-CEO Marc Benioff and his wife, Lynne Benioff, announced a new gift of $60 million to UC Santa Barbara. The donation makes it one of the most significant philanthropic gifts ever to support ocean research. And these funds will expand the work of the Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory (BOSL), which protects endangered whales, tackles plastic pollution, uses AI for monitoring ocean health, etc.
